What is a Question? (Right. Another Question)

Good question! Questions are a form of people’s love for information. Questions are a form of people’s love of facts! They ask for information or explanations about something that is stuck in their hearts and minds.
By asking, the window of your world will be more opened. By asking, your head is getting filled. By asking, you will become a person who is always one step ahead of the other.

Sure. This week’s topic is about asking and answering. The question is extraordinary. Lots of good questions, but we were only asked to answer 3 questions.
Alright, let’s try! I hope my answer is clear and can provide a good experience for the reader, yes!

How has this program changed my life during this lockdown period?

0 degrees.

Well. I am actually a civil engineering student. I’m already in the final level and just a little bit to finish my final project. But it’s boring for me sometimes! I need something fresh. Especially during this pandemic. Since more than a year ago I was browsing the internet for fun about the potential of the data world in human life. Since then I have returned to coding (previously I studied a little while in college). I spent a little of my savings to take an online course on Data Science.

90 degrees

Since then I have been completely amazed and open to continuing to learn about the world of data. In the next few months, I returned to participate in a free Bootcamp in the field of Machine Learning. It was quite difficult for me. I don’t think my brain can be that strong to understand machine learning.
Until finally 3 months ago I met the #GenerasiGigih poster on my LinkedIn Timeline. I still remember that the registration at that time would close in 1 or 2 days. So I immediately registered and filled all the requirements.

135 degrees

Long story short, I managed to join the first batch of #GenerasiGigih. A great opportunity for me! Thank you YABB. I have gone through all the processes at the beginner phase until I managed to finish LGD. Entering the intermediate stage actually made my experience even more extraordinary. Slowly my mind was carried away into the world of data. The material given, the assignments I did, all made my life change 180 degrees from the beginning that I was a civil engineering student, but now I want a career in the data world.

From the story above, #GenerasiGigih changed my interests, my views, my mindset, even my future and opportunities.

One more thing, talking about Data Analysts, Data Science, and Machine Learning. I think Data Analyst suits me best and I love it the most.

What kind of future self do you want yours to be? How will GenerasiGIGIH help you to become your future self?

I have a rather interesting story about this. And to be honest this is part of the essay I used to register for #GenerasiGigih 3 months ago.
I already said that I am a civil engineering student. OF COURSE, I LOVE CIVIL ENGINEERING. I’ve always had a reason why I studied civil engineering.

What does this have to do with #GenerasiGigih? I have noble intentions that I want to give to the civil engineering world one day.

As we know that civil engineering is the oldest branch of science on earth. So sometimes it is difficult to adapt to information technology such as data. And I see that the potential is quite large and can be developed in the world of civil engineering. The use of data science, as well as coding, is still not very well implemented in civil engineering. Therefore, I was moved to give my role there. I’ve been traveling looking for knowledge about data science, data analysts, and also machine learning in the end that I want to apply again to civil engineering. So that my favorite branch of science can continue to grow with the times.
And the most important thing is: #GenerasiGigih helped me a lot! They brought me closer to the dream. I am sure that one day the dream that I strive for can be realized by me and my next successors.

Do you become more confident to become what you aspire to be after joining GenerasiGIGIH?

A big: YES, I DO!

They reveal everything. They reveal my potential in processing data. Their mentors were amazing. Experienced. In Bahasa, we usually say ‘DAGING!’. The material provided, the tools taught are also very good and very useful in the professional world later.
Especially when it comes to technical classes, I always like group activity sessions. I can meet new friends. I can learn a lot from them. Then also it can train me in communicating, negotiating, and learning to work together to solve problems.
Not only technical classes, but #GengerasiGigih also provides English classes. This is something we really need! Fun classes with very friendly mentors and friends. Makes me comfortable in learning.
Don’t just stop there, They also provide mentoring development programs and soft skills classes. What can I say more, folks??
It's complete. Super Special!
I think if we follow this program carefully, I’m sure that after this we are actually ready to go into the professional world, be it starting from an internship or a full-time job.

#UncoverYourself #UncoverYourPotential #BuildYourFuture

I think the important point that #GenerasiGigih gave me is that in the end, I can hone my potential in the data world, which may not have been seen before. Besides that, #GenerasiGigih has opened new perspectives for me. So it can also change my future.

Congratulations and Keep Spirit to all participants of the first batch of #GenerasiGigih
